Course creator and innovator in clinical hypnosis modules in medical schools.

About Ursula James

Ursula has worked as a clinical hypnotherapist for thirty years, and for 25 of them she has taught clinical hypnosis at medical schools around the country, including Oxford and Cambridge. She is the author of the Clinical Hypnosis Textbook, (now in its third edition, and used as a textbook in Medical Schools), as well as numerous other self-help books. Her podcast HypnoSOS (short hypnosis sessions to deal with everyday stress) was originally created for frontline workers to use in their breaks and now has 200+ episodes to choose from.

In 2013 her passion for hypnosis resulted in being appointed the first – and currently the only – Visiting Professor of Clinical Hypnosis in the UK, at Robert Gordon University. She is also a Visiting Teaching Fellow at Oxford University Medical School, and Patron of Anxiety UK and the National Centre for Domestic Violence.

She is currently working with St Georges Hospital in London and PhaseSpace on an exciting project in which we fuse hypnosis with VR to produce a powerful resource for anyone experiencing anxiety.

Having tried another hypnotherapy training, I am very pleased to say how enjoyable this course is. I would liken it to reading a good book. Easy to understand, informative and enjoyable. I would highly recommend it to anyone, whether for professional purposes or just for your own self learning.
